1. Office Bleach
The teeth whitening dentist applies high concentration carbamide gel is applied on teeth & photoactivated on the dental chair. In about an hour your teeth can look bright again.
2. Home Bleach
Office bleach is most often followed by a dentist supervised home bleach in which a low concentration carbamide gel is applied on the teeth at home for a few hours with the help of a custom made bleaching tray. We do not recommend over the counter bleaching agents. Their concentration is not standardised, hence can lead to sensitive teeth. The oozing out of the gel from non customised trays causes gum irritation & soreness.
Patients should keep in mind that drinking coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking cigarettes will gradually diminish the effect of any whitening process and a touch up may be needed.
A more sophisticated procedure involves laser teeth whitening treatment. It is a faster method, the results stay longer and you have less chances of hypersensitivity.
